How to obtain an Australian passport in Brazil and Venezuela
The Passports office at the Embassy of Australia in Brasilia is open from Monday to Thurday, from 8.30am to 5pm and on Fridays from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Interviews are generally scheduled from 10am to noon and again from 2pm to 4pm. The Embassy is closed for some public holidays.
The size and quality of your passport photograph is of critical importance. The size of your head in the photograph must comply with Australian passport requirements, which differ from Brazilian and Venezuelan passport photograph standards. Familiarise yourself with these requirements and ensure you submit compliant photos. Your application may be rejected because of unusable photographs.
Translations of foreign documents must be performed by a translator registered with the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) in Australia. Please refer to the web-link below to find an accredited translator.
